What is Bontent?

Bontent is one place to track everything you read, watch, listen to, and listen to — books, series, movies, and podcasts. You can rate items, follow friends, join groups, and get personalized recommendations.

How do I import my existing library?

Open the My Content menu and pick a content type. From there you can import from Goodreads, Audible, Letterboxd, Trakt, Netflix, or a custom CSV file. Imports usually take a few seconds and your ratings come along with the books or shows.

How do I install Bontent on my phone?

Visit /install for step-by-step instructions for iOS and Android. On iOS use Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android use Chrome → menu → Install app.

Adding books, shows, movies, and podcasts

Use the search bar at the top of the app or the search tab inside each content type. Tap an item to open its detail page and then add it to In Progress, Finished, or your Queue.

On the My Books / Series / Movies / Podcasts pages, drag any cover from one shelf to another to move it. The same drag-and-drop now works inside Groups.

Series and seasons

For shows, you can mark individual seasons as watched or in progress. Open a series, tap a season, and rate or update it from there.

How do ratings work?

Rate items from 1–10. Your ratings power your personal Top Picks and Top Fours, and feed your friends’ recommendations. You can change a rating at any time from an item’s detail page.

Writing reviews

After you rate an item, tap “Write a review” on its detail page. Reviews are visible to people who follow you, and to group members on items the group is reading or watching.

Joining or creating a group

Open Community → Groups to browse public groups or create your own. Private groups require an invite link. Groups let you share what you’re reading, vote on next picks, and discuss.

Libby Holds in groups

The Libby Holds matrix shows which members have already placed a hold on a book. Members with permission can add new books to the Holds list, and remove a book once everyone in the group has secured their copy.

Direct messages and notifications

Tap the Community tab to access direct messages and your notifications feed. The badge counter shows unread messages and new community activity.

Sharing a book, show, or list

Tap the purple share icon next to any title. On phones and tablets this opens your device’s native share sheet so you can text it, post it to another app, or copy the link. On desktop it copies the link to your clipboard.

Inviting friends

Use the “Invite Friends” button in the top bar to generate a personal invite link. When friends sign up through your link they’re automatically connected to you.

How are my recommendations generated?

Recommendations combine your ratings, your selected genres, what your friends and groups are loving, and trending titles. Tune them in Preferences → Tune.

Top Picks vs. Top Fours

Top Picks is a constantly-updated, personalized feed across all content types. Top Fours are your hand-curated all-time favorites — pick four per category and they show on your profile.

Changing your username, avatar, or bio

Accepted Answer

Go to Preferences → Profile. Tap your avatar to upload a new picture, edit your display name, username, bio, and social links. Changes save automatically.

Privacy and who can see what

Your profile is public to other Bontent members by default. Direct messages are private. Groups respect their public/private setting — private group content is only visible to members.

Subscriptions and billing

Manage your subscription from Preferences → Settings. You can change plan, update payment methods, or cancel at any time.

Deleting your account

Accepted Answer

In Preferences → Settings, scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete account.” This permanently removes your library, ratings, and reviews. The action cannot be undone.
